Undocumented immigrants live within a tangled web of institutional surveillance that simultaneously threatens and sustains their societal presence. In America, their mere presence has been criminalized by laws and policies that shape their everyday realities. Bills such as SB 1718 (Florida), SB 4 (Texas), and SF 481 (Iowa) create boundaries, tear families apart, and fuel racial profiling. This work visually dissects the complexity of these anti-immigration bills and explores the visibility and invisibility of undocumented immigrants in America. As one delves into the layers of these pieces, deeper insights into these laws are revealed. The Rectangular boxes among the layers symbolize the constrictive nature of these policies and their role in perpetuating racial profiling.
